I Am Sorry
I am sorry if you believe that you are a good person and you will go to heaven
I am sorry if you think all your Christian good deeds will get you into heaven
I am sorry if you became a Christian because you thought it would make you rich and prosperous
I am sorry if you think your “favorite” sin is ok in Gods eye
I am sorry if you became a Christian because you thought you would have “Your best life now”
I am sorry if you think catholic indulgences will forgive your sins
I am sorry if you think the virgin Mary hears your prayers
I am sorry if you think Islam is a religion of peace
I am sorry if you think Christians are hypocrites
I am sorry if you are a hypocrite
I am sorry if you think as a Mormon you think you can become a God
I am sorry if you hate me because I believe the bible says Homosexuality is an abomination in Gods eyes
I am sorry if you are a Christian to get blessings
I am sorry if you are a Christian because you worry about Hell, and you accept Jesus as “Fire Insurance”
I am sorry if you think that “sinners prayer” at a alter call one Sunday made you a Christian
I am sorry if you being a Christian makes you ashamed with your friends and family
I am sorry if you are a Christian one day a week
I am sorry if your bible has dust on it
I am sorry if you think living a Christian life with out speaking the gospel to them will bring people to Jesus Christ
I am sorry if you have convinced your mind that a sin is not a sin
I am sorry if you care about what other people in church think of you
I am sorry if you don’t pray daily
I really am sorry, if you think or do these things.
I am sorry if you were told any of these things
To be honest, this may be your last wake up call.
Living for Jesus Christ is not easy,
You will be called names, hated, beaten, laughed at, jailed, spit on,
and persecuted at work and by family, lose a job, lose friends, lose respect,
If you are not experiencing any of those things, then I am sorry again.
Because you probably are not living for Jesus
You are trapped in the enemy’s prison cell and you don’t even know it
Jesus asked us to “Count the Costs” in Luke 14:25-33
25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them,
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—
29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?
31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.
33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
Meaning that before you give yourself as a servant of the King of Kings.
You better know what your getting yourself into before you accept.
In that passage in Luke he gives 2 examples a builder and a king, who both fail because they have not counted the costs.
Jesus also lays out exactly what is the costs for you so there is no mistake
You will have to hate your mother as compared to your love and devotion to Me
You will have to hate your father as compared to your love and devotion to Me
You will have to hate your sister as compared to your love and devotion to Me
You will have to hate your brother as compared to your love and devotion to Me
You will have to hate your wife and your children
You will have to hate your own life as compared to your love and devotion to Me
You will have to bear a cross
You will have to give up everything you have
You will have to give up your dreams and desires
You will have to give up sin
You will have to give up time
You will have to give up money
You will have to give up your possessions
You will have to give up everything that makes you…. selfish you
Your friends may hate you
Your family may hate you
The world will hate you
Do all these things and Jesus will let you be his disciple
If not, don’t waste your time….Jesus will be disappointment anyways…He will spit you from his mouth because you are lukewarm.
You might as well just give up and go enjoy your sin and enjoy “Your best life now”
So I am sorry if any of those things that are at beginning of this post touched a sore spot.
You can’t be Jesus’ Disciple…
Unless you take the time, and “Count the Costs”
Weigh them and decide.
Do I want Jesus as my King of Kings and Lord of Lords in my life?
If the first thing you’re thinking is “whats in it for me?”
I am sorry again….you have to give up your selfishness too
Do I want to be a servant?
That is what he is asking you to do….
Do I want to be a slave for Christ?
Count the Costs
Take up your Cross and Follow Him!
Quit putting out minimal effort. He demands more, however his yoke is light compared to the yoke of sin
Salvation is waiting for you!
